ebb and flow is part of an ongoing series titled oceans apart, investigating the relationship between borders and identity. seen in juxtaposition to the widening gulf between polarising sentiments in Cyprus, the sea is contemplated as an enveloping presence that does not adhere to ideological boundaries.

the installation inverts and folds the conflicting positions of the north and south coasts of the island, giving them the space to pulsate against each other.
